Claudia Neri

I am a behavioral and experimental economist and I am currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at the University of St. Gallen.

In my research I study how people make economic decisions in social and strategic contexts. I design and conduct laboratory experiments and online surveys to measure attributes that are otherwise not directly observable (e.g. beliefs, expectations, preferences) and investigate their effect on the decision-making process.

My current projects investigate: (1) how people form, use and revise their beliefs and expectations when taking strategic decisions, (2) how people learn and how information spreads in social networks, (3) how procedural preferences affect the allocation and delegation of decision rights across an organization, and (4) how consumers behave on online product customization platforms.
